Heath Bar Cake

From the kitchen of Martha Hemphill, Knoxville (newspaper clipping)

Ingredients

  • 1 angel food cake
  • vanilla ice cream, softened
  • Heath candy bars, crushed
  • whipping cream, sweetened, for topping

Instructions

  1. Hollow out angel food cake.
  2. Fill with softened vanilla ice cream and crushed Heath bars.
  3. Refreeze until firm.
  4. Top with sweetened whipped cream and additional crushed candy before serving.
  5. Serve with Hot Caramel Sauce (recipe below).
Includes a separate Hot Caramel Sauce recipe on the same clipping: sugar, unsalted butter, whipping cream, and vanilla, cooked together until thickened.
