Mamie Eisenhower's Million Dollar Fudge

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (12 oz package) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 packages (4 oz each) German sweet chocolate
  • 1 jar (8 oz) marshmallow creme
  • 2 cups broken walnuts
  • 4 1/2 cups sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 can (14 1/2 oz) evaporated milk

Instructions

  1. Combine semi-sweet chocolate chips, German sweet chocolate, marshmallow creme, and walnuts in a large bowl.
  2. Combine sugar, salt, butter, and evaporated milk in a large heavy saucepan.
  3. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly; boil 6 minutes, stirring often.
  4. Pour at once over the chocolate mixture in the bowl.
  5. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until chocolate is melted and mixture is creamy.
  6. Pour into a buttered 13x9x2-inch pan.
  7. Let stand a few hours to set.
  8. Cut into squares.
  9. Store in a tightly covered container.
Makes 5 pounds.
