Spaghetti with Chunky Tomato Meat Sauce

From the kitchen of Hunt's (package clipping, via Sally Hayes)

Ingredients

  • 12 oz dry spaghetti or favorite pasta, uncooked
  • 1 lb ground round beef (85% lean)
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) Hunt's Tomato Sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) Hunt's Diced Tomatoes with Basil, Garlic & Oregano - No Salt Added, undrained
  • 1 Tbsp firmly packed brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package directions, omitting salt.
  2. Meanwhile, cook beef with onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat 7 minutes or until beef is crumbled and no longer pink (safe internal temp 160°F), stirring occasionally; drain.
  3. Add tomato sauce, undrained tomatoes, and brown sugar; stir well.
  4. Simmer covered over medium-low heat 15 minutes or until hot.
  5. Drain spaghetti; place in a large bowl.
  6. Pour sauce over spaghetti; mix lightly, if desired.
  7. Refrigerate any leftovers.
